Didn't realize I was "thumping my chest".

Just trying to point out everyone is entitled to their opinion, he didn't laugh at it - I did.

Seems like a bit of a rip-off of a Full Metal Jacket laconic phrase.

Q: "How can you shoot women & children?"

A: "Just lead 'em a little more!"

I thought it was a cute joke.

And thanks for your service AMF. Most of us, me included, don't deserve to have people taking bullets for us.

I found it funny the 1st time I heard it. Would have been funnier if true. The inane questions the media ask rarely get the response they deserve. As far as butthurt over political issues, methinks you protest too much. (And for the record, I tend to not like political humor because it is rarely insightful.)

    No it is not real.

What is real (either now or in the past) are attempts by the media in general (notice I did not say liberal media) to get the service member in question to say some vague, cave-man grunt about "hurr hurr rag heads hurr hurr and to stereotype them as knuckle dragging idiots.

What I got out of it (even though it is not real) is that the Marine in question did not spend alot of time philosophiezing(s/p?) about his job; he did what he was supposed to do, just like the proffessional he is and went on with his life.

    DISCLAIMER TO FOLLOW;

I have not AFAIK in all my time in two branches of the Armed Forces ever personally known or talked with a sniper first hand, all of my information comes from second party sources in the form of senior NCO's who did.

    END DISCLAIMER

People like me "exist" so people like you can come on forums just like this one and voice your opinion with out being censored.
(note the military tag above my name, still active duty, 20+ and counting)

    Sorry you didn't like it.
Our media has a military dick so far up its ass you can see the bottom of the glans between the media's tonsils.

Please can we see this interview where the news lady tries to make the soldier feel bad? Can you find it? Really? Or does it just "happen all the time?"

Also, for ****'s sake, we don't repost glurge email on boards. That's a precise reversal of the bellcurve.
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it

Why did I just get the warrior-dick wagged at me like it was supposed to mean something?

It sure as hell doesn't mean I'm going to laugh at your (read: someone else's) lame dragged-out jokes, or not call you out of crapping up the board with chain mail.

It does mean that I am that much more willing to turn this into a nice little discussion on what the media does and doesn't mention about the way our military does its business, if you are so fucking inclined.

Well okayyyyyy, I am so inclined...........

How about how the media doesn't report on the roads that are repaired, or the electricityy that is restored to neighborhoods that lost it or better yet introducing it into neighborhoods that never had it in the first place?

Why don't we hear about that?

Why is it always - " the death toll to US troops is blah, blah", etc?
