YouTube - 1934 Aldo Nadi at Salle LaCaze
Very rare footage of some drills and bouting in "rapier" (foil) and dagger fencing from the salle d'armes of master Albert LaCaze. Along with his colleague George Dubois, LaCaze was one of the very few fencing masters of the early 20th century to have taken an active interest in researching/reviving historical styles. However, their object was not so much to create a verbatim copy of the original Renaissance-era form of rapier and dagger fencing, as to develop a new form of double-weapon fencing inspired by the historical styles.
Legendary fencer Aldo Nadi is also visible in some of this footage.
