    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Fight Quest: Wing Chun

I couldn't find a thread about this yet. It aired last week. Did anyone else watch it? It answered all my questions about the abilities of the "true lineage". Pictures of Yip Man and chain punching and everything. It was off the hook. They definitely proved that you can't master WC in a week. and by master wing chun I mean learn how not to fight!

MAP has a thread on this episode, and it's epic! Filled with "well MY lineage would have done this" and "My lineage would have been better" and blah... blah.... blah...

It's Wing Chun, on Fight Quest.

What more is there to say?

I missed the show and ran to the Tattoo parlor specifically to see if anyone was talking about it . I was not expecting you to be talking about it .

I didn't think things were that slow ...

There is no better statement about the quality of the _un when two guys, both of which have been seriously schooled by practitioners of almost every other art covered by the show, kick the everloving christ out of two dedicated and probably decently hard sparring -unners. Jimmy Smith might have lost on his usage, or lack thereof, of the _un, but he still wiped the floor with some ass.

That doesn't mean I'm not going to try out the big useless pile of chainpunches when I get the chance, of course, but that's because of the same curiosity which drove me to try out WTF style Tae Kwon Do.

Well that explains why I couldn't find it on the Swedish channel. But it doesn't explain why I couldn't find the Muay Thai or Kallari ones there. Probably best to just ignore this derail. If I actually asked what I'm thinking I'd probably get trollshidoed post haste.

The sparring looked at least semi decent. They did manage to get Doug to cover up and retreat constantly. Maybe the chun isn't as bad as people here think it is. More likely my total lack of alive striking training means I don't know what the **** I'm talking about.

Which one's FightQuest again? Is it the half-decent one or the one with the Saint of big, bald dudes on it...

Don't make me type his name...

    Not on this site!!
"So, yeah, Zen teachers may well insult you, work you to the bone, hit you with sticks, shout verbal abuse at you, and punch the **** out of you.
And when the ****'s been punched out of you, you might just find that you're far better-off without it." - Vieux Normand

"So in short, BJJ wins again. BJJ, and chainmail." - TheMightyMcClaw

"On bullshido, your opinions are not sacred, neither are your feelings." - Scrapper

"You entered the lions' den. Don't bitch if you get eaten." - danniboi07

"Needless to say, it's much easier to clear a bunch of drunk kids out of your house when you're yelling GTFO and carrying a samurai sword." - DerAuslander

"Eventually, I realized it doesn't matter what art you train, what matters is the method in which you train. Training in an alive manner, under skilled and qualified instruction, is the single most important aspect of gaining martial skill. All else is window dressing." - JNP : Saying it how it is!

My impression is that those guys are kinda sycophantic.
But it's still the better one of the two shows.

Fight quest is the one that doesn't have the 43rd toughest bald man in the world.
