I never buy pre-made dressings. Instead, gerry cans of Greek extra virgin olive oil and big bottles of Balsamic vinegar -- haven't found anything that doesn't taste better for a healthy dose of each. Whisk with some strong mustard to make a great dressing for meat salads.

Thought of you when I read that New Yorker piece. How's the noggin?

I've got the former (in that exact form factor) but not the latter. When I next brave the ice and snow to buy food, I'll have to give it a shot.

Not so good. I'm used to the problems with memory, speech and balance, but the whole no-exertion, no-lifting-weights thing is damn near killing me.

I'm really saddened to hear you're still experiencing effects from that slam. My heart seriously goes out to you. Get better soon. Is there an ETA or a plan the docs gave you?

Try to avoid activities that worsen the symptoms. Wait for my appointment (which has yet to be scheduled) with the second neurologist. Focus on my enemies and the ever-fading hope of besting them someday.

Got in with another neurologist today. He's going to put me on migraine meds and schedule me for a MRI (eventually).

I have a 250g bag of guar gum (cost $20/kg) and a 750mL bottle of flaxseed oil (cost $24/L). If only I weren't out of milk protein isolate, I'd be set.

Wish I were training, but at least I know what I have to do to get there.

Hey Russ, I see that the competition vids got taken down...what's up?

It's highly unlikely that I'll ever be able to safely train judo again, and I needed to remove the self-imposed pressure to do so unsafely. Packed up the gi and belt, took down the competition videos and switched the style fields back. No sense in pretending I'm something that I'm not, y'know?
