    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    New XD

Just got this the other day. This is the first pistol I've owed, and it'll probably be the last for a good several years.

We just took it shooting the other day and it was pretty accurate. The only other .40 calibers I've were sig P229's which I liked, but this fits my hand much better than those did. I really like how the sights are interchangeable with sig sights and there seems to be cool things for it out there, like lighter trigger kits and such.

I'll go ahead and post pics. These are not the only ones there are, but all the others are on a friend's camera. I'll get him to send me the pics and videos asap.

I was really surprised at how easy cleaning a handgun is. I've only ever cleaned a couple of rifles. Very pleasant gun to shoot and have.

Another thing I really like is the trigger. From the factory it's nice and crisp, compared to my roommate's sigma. Does anybody know anything about how to make triggers on those things lighter?

This was from 25 feet, and it was my friend's first time shooting any gun, ever.

Hollow points. Fed 38 of these to the weapon at the range just to see if it was different at all. Didn't feel or shoot any differently. Should have guessed, but I'm a pistol noob.

Grats! Did you get the 4" or 5" barrel? I just got a 9mm 4" barrel XD a couple months ago. I love it.

Looks like the 4" to me, but I might be wrong. I just got a Glock 23 .40 recently. I wonder how the XD would fare against it. The only XD I've fired is a 9.

I noticed that the XDs sit "lower" in your hand which was pretty nice. Cobgrats and good luck.

I shot a Glock 9mm and the XD 9mm befor buying. The XD was a more natural fit and size for me and my wife. I was also much more accurate with the XD in the first few shots.

    It is the 4" model.

I really like it so far. I also agree that it sits low in my hand, which is one of the things that really appealed to me. It makes it feel "solid" in your hand.

That's what I thought. Makes it feel pretty well balanced too. Very nice weapon, but I like having a hammer. :-) That has the "cocked" indicator on the back of the slide, right?

It has a chambered round indicator and a cocked indicator both are visual and tactile. In pictures on the web they look too subtle. In real life they are really easy to see and feel.

The feedback was a feature that I thought seemed kinda stupid but when you have multiple users of the same gun it is REALLY REALLY cool. I don't ever have to wonder if my wife left a round in the chamber.

I love my XDs. I dunno if I'd ever "lighten" a trigger on a self defense weapon, but there are some match-grade trigger kits that can be had. Look around on xdtalk.com or xdgear.com
