    The Total Gym

Hey, anyone out there ever use the "Total Gym"? What do you think? Reason I ask, trying to save money, might cancel my gym membership.

I have one. It does everything it says it does. Great fluid range of motion. Takes a lot less place than a bench.

Just get some Powerblocks. Dumbbells will do just about everything you need. Machines are a waste of time.

I really hate it. Mine managed to break (cheaply constructed), it can only offer so much resistance based on your own body weight, and you really can't get any power lifting training done on it.

'bout the only way to increase the resistance is to stack weights on it while you work. 'course, if you already have free weights, then why bother with a total gym, no?

I found it useful for training the anterior tibial muscles.

It seems useful for rehabilitation purposes after an injury. Lets you practice exersizes on weight bearing muscles (like in the legs) without having to support your full weight.
