Been trying to improve my top game lately. I'm going to N-S a lot. That hugging the hips tip is a good one. I've done something like that before but not so committed. I gotta try it real deep like you showed.
What do you think of taking the back from the top of North south? I've been having fun doing that lately. -

Are you talking about using double-unders gripping the arm pit or lapels and pulling the guy back into you to take the back from N/S?
If so, I have done this quite a few times in gi but not in no-gi. Although, I stopped doing it a while ago simply because it was really a 50/50 transition for me in that if the guy on the bottom was really active there is too much space opened up between you and your opponent when setting up the transition and the chance of escape or recovery is greatly increased.
I'll use it every no and again but it is pretty low on my option pole from the N/S position. -
