I've got a sore nose...

I was teaching my 8yo son the classic Dempsey "Falling Step" straight
punch.

We were working on thrusting out with the fist first and then following
through with a step. I was letting him sock me in the gut and he was
beginning to get the hang of it, really getting some pretty good power
(for an 8yo) when, wham. His "scamp" streak asserts itself. He decides
to change targets. Socks me right in the nose. Rocked my head back and
actually bloodied it just a little bit (not a gusher, but still, blood
counts). Against another 8yo, he'd have totally plastered his boxing
opponent; taken him off his feet. Not bad at all for someone < 45
pounds.

Egad I love being a Dad! :-)

Can't wait to start teaching Bowie to my daughter. Maybe I'll ship her
off to Maestro Loriega for a bit of navaja (what's the feminine navaja
called? Sevilinia or something like that?).

Anyway, this is the best feeling sore nose I've ever had. :-)
