I'd like to nominate the first sticky

    http://www.sandowplus.co.uk/Competit...s/lesson01.htm

It would put a lot of what will be discussed here in context.

No matter how much poetry his trousers spout, I am denied repping Jack Rusher any more.

On topic: Do JKD discussions go here or the CMA forum?

Depends. Would it be good JKD discussions, or silly JKD discussions?

(good and silly in terms of the quality of the JKD)

PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

Tough call, it would have to be case-by-case. A thread on JKD as an example of the "Western" approach to MAs, or focusing on the WMA elements of JKD (fencing theory, boxing training methods etc.) would be on-topic; JKD lineage wars wouldn't be.

One thing to be aware of is the tendency for WMA forums on other boards to lose focus when people casually assume that everything that isn't Asian must be Western by default.

YMAS serves reasonably well as a General Topics forum (the only problem being that because it's also the Comedy forum, serious questions on topics that don't fit into the other Forums tend to get LULZed up.) I'm torn between wanting to encourage intelligent discussion on non-mainstream styles, etc. and not wanting this Forum to turn into a miscellaneous file.

    What classifies the western approach?
