Go see a doctor! Especially when it's a reocurring problem.

Thanks for taking the time to write this valuable reply.
Obviously I will go and see a doctor if I feel that is necessary. Right now it's 9:30 PM on a monday evening and a doctor is not at my immediate disposal, nor do I feel its a terribly pertient issue to my well-being. What I do have access to is a forum of people who may have experienced this type of injury or similar and be able to give me some worthwhile advice on the issue. -

What I gave you is valuable advice. So I really hope that the above sentence isn't meant sarcastic.

It could be a bursa that's filling with fluid: http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/pate...eebursitis.htm
Nevertheless, "go see a doctor" is absolutely the best medical advice you'll ever get on an internet message board. In fact, giving any other advice would be fucking retarded under the circumstances, so try not to be such a jackass about it.Last edited by Lu Tze; 2/09/2009 9:11am at . Reason: Less fucking.

100% agree on the suggestion that seeing a medical health professional is the best course of action.
Recurring injuries will do just that - re-occur - unless they are treated and are given enough time to heal.
Remember, knees are... complicated.Where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence.

Someone else +rep this for me. I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with my knee for ages, and I'm about 95% sure this is the injury in question (or at least one of them). I'm going in for a diagnostic ultrasound in a few weeks, and according to this ("Emergency Ultrasound", page 514 in case the link doesn't work), prepatellar bursitis should show up.
