Yeah ... looking back now, I'm uncertain. It's this paragraph that give that impression (my bold added):
As for me: I'm a 11 year TKD second dan black belt (black belt for 4 years, brand new 2nd Dan BB), that trains in Moo Sul Kwan TaeKwonDo. It takes most people about four years, if you are good, to get to BB, on average about six. For me it took so long beacuse I started when I was six(to young to uderstand how to listen), and I got sick alot so I was not in class alot. -

DAMN I thoughtr he was 11 and the it took 4 years to go from 1st to 2nd and that was too long because he started at 6. SLAPS SELF ON FORE HEAD SHAKES HEAD IN DISGUST
If he is older then , walk away from your school and get some real training----------------------------------------
After reading Jekyll's threads I bring back an old sig.......
Do you really train or just bore people on message boards and parties talking about it. -

Heya Teryan,
How are you buddie?
Well, i take it your 17, its kewl mate, but seriously , does it matter what other think of your school. Personally, if your happy and your getting alot out of your MA , good for you and go for it.
However if your training to be a fighter i advise your strongly to spar, NOT POINT spar, and cross train ini other styles. It will give you a broader understanding to fighting.Seriously, its quite disgusting sometimes when i bump into people i know in my style (Ninjutsu) and i tell the cocky ones 'dood u know a person doing MMA or BJJ for like 5 months is gonna kick your ass' they just sit around and fail to believe this because they are wearing a dark coloured belt :) Remember dont just stay inside your Dojang, see what other MAists views on fighting is, you dont havee to spar at first , but have a nice casual training session with them, with no competition to prove whosm style is the best (Lord knows how hard that is! HAH)
Anyways, its obvious you have strong intention to do well in the arts, even at a young age, its the first step , like Buddha said 'First intentioin then enlightenment'
Keep on going bro, you will get there. :)

Yeah I got 17 years old out of it.
I think the gripe isn't so much TKD sucks, but that there arts that are better out there.
But, you have a good start. You picked up some good kicks. Now, if you go get some ground work, grappling, and boxing you would be pretty well set.
Then you have to figure out a way to put it all together that works for you.
On the other hand, you are better of MA wise than I was at that age.And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad. -
