Noob question on Qualifying UFC

Okay,

I'm up to UFC2 and there are plenty of karate guys. However, every site lists them simply as karate. No ryu or ryu-ha.

Anyone know the karate sub-styles of Johnny Rhodes (won round 1), Seah Daugherty (lost to t3h booj), Ray Wizard (lost to tkd), Minoki Ichihara (lost to bjj) ???

Shorinji-ryu, Tae Kwon Do, Kenpo, Daido-Juku
(respectively)

Minoki Ichihara is Daido juku (a blend of kyokushin+judo). And was HW champion of the 1990 Hokutoki Open Weight Tournament. Royce has since listed him as one of his toughest opponents.

Johnny Rhodes is shorinji ryu.

Sorry. No idea what style Ray Wizard (although I know he competed in light touch point karate) or Sean Daugherty practiced

I know. I just find the video amusing and thought that I had a good enough excuse to repost it. TKD and krotty are pretty much the fucking same anyway.

I HIGHLY recommend reading the book 'No Holds Barred' by Clyde Gentry. It goes into great detail about how the UFC's early paticapants were chosen and what their backgrounds were.
