What happened to submissions...
Noticed recently that we see less and less submissions in MMA. GSP and Penn I don't think even attemped one....

I was about to start this same thread! Then I thought about it a lot and I am wondering if it isn't just the UFC; largely due to design via matchmaking.

lolwut? Did you guys see a couple UFCs ago when almost every fight ended in submission? īThe Night of Omoplatasī? There is still plenty of submissions in the UFC. The koren spent half of the Karo fight trying to RNC him.

don't you guys listen to rogan?
these guys are getting elusive and they get sweaty and slippery so subs are hard to pull off.

One UFC and submissions are dead.
There have been recent UFC's with half the fights ending in sub. Others with no KO's.

Demian Maia, Jason MacDonald, BJ Penn @ 155, Eric Schaefer and Dustin Hazelett would disagree about submissions being a thing of the distant past.

i see a lot of "pound em in the face then choke em when give up their back" back but not much else. pretty much no submissions from the guard.
