    Oak, I'm guessing? Oak of any form is bad for impact weaponry. It shatters. Ditto for kamagong/ironwood. For Filipino woods, Bahi is alright. I've also heard good things about hickory. Been meaning to get a hickory stick.

    I used to have a Cold Steel ash quarterstaff (they stopped making them a few years ago). It stood up well to lots of impact training, but eventually I broke it in half. The halves have stood up well to tires and a desquerdes.

    Looks like we've got our full assortment of equipment, then. I got two pairs of old hockey gloves on eBay (They were being sold together from an estate sale), and my housemate's fencing mask. Moose has his motorcycle helmet.
    We are ready to throw.
