I shall now compose a letter.

"Dear... Dear, Ninja mas-" ****! ****, It's capitalized. Dammit, I gotta start over. Start over. Okay, I gotta get more ink for my inkwell. Got a fountain pen. Needs ink, need an inkwell. Hold on.

    ...

Okay, I'm back, I got some ink. Okay, let me... okay. Alright, I got some more paper. Good, okay. "Dear Ninja Master." Okay, got that down. The greeting, the beginning. On to the body.

"Eat..." uh, what's good here? What could go here? Oh! ****. "Eat **** and die..." ummm... uh. Aheh. "Shithead." Oh, exclamation point. Yeah, that works... wait. No, no, too forced. No. Okay, there we go.

    "Dear Ninja Master,

    Eat **** and die, shithead.

    Sincerely,
    Kid Miracleman"

    Alright. Alright. That's a keeper.

More then you I'm guessing, that statement is a dead give away at how little training you have.

Assuming you are a dishonored samurai who turned ninja:

    - Would you please reconsider Seppuku?

I only have a wooden sword here to chop your head off,
but I'd try my best, I promise!

Really? Really? In your head, it's REALLY a smart idea to get on an MA forum and start **** with people you don't even know?

    You fail at trollshido. STFU.

    back on topic:

I'm just guessing here, but chances are if these students aren't taking hits well, they are perhaps flinching, turning away, or backpedalling excessively. When people lack confidence, they tend to do these things, and as a result, when a shot gets through, they often don't see it coming which makes it harder to absorb.

Attack/defence drills are always good for that. "Toe the line" is my favorite. - two people stand in range of each other, with pieces of tape on the floor marking where they must each put their front foot. They then spend a round each as an aggressor or defender, firing off punches at whatever pace is comfortable, with the defender not allowed to move their front foot from the line. The second they step off the line the action stops until they resume their starting position.

You can build up the intensity of the activity over time, at a pace that suits the individual.

If they are not prepared for it, this doesn't seem like such a great idea.
