Hey guys, I'm new here and I would like to ask about moving down a weight class. I do Sanshou and my weight is 70kg. So in competitions I would be fighting at the 65kg to 70kg category. However being just 5 feet 6 , I'm smaller than most of the guys in my weight class. Most of them are taller than me and I feel i have to move down to 60-65kg. Any suggestions on how I can lose this weight (I'm quite pudgy) w/o reducing much of my muscle mass and power?

Do you do any exercise/diet right now? If you are "quite pudgy" you should be dieting, I really don't know what else you would want to hear.
Do you lift? Do you keep a log? What are your lifts? Your diet? Your lifting scheme/strategy?

Currently, I'm not on any diet yet. I have no intention for diets like Low carb ones. And currently i'm lifting for strength so I decided to stop and lose tht 5 kg of fats first. What I meant by pudgy is that I have fats at my mid section to lose. So what do you think I should do? Continue lifting or stop or some other combination?

Umm, just determine your caloric requirements based on weight and activity level. Eat fewer calories than that. You will magically lose weight.

Keep lifting, you said you want to keep your strength, losing fat and lifting are not mutually exclusive by far, and you didn't answer any of the questions posted.

hey, keep lifting but start doing loads of cardio
if your dieting then drink loads of water and get lots of sleep.
