    I am a 10th dan in box-kicking.
Sometimes you lose and sometimes the other guy wins.

At this point I don't owe anybody an explenation.

    Schools I trained at:
Lotus Club Cetepe Liberdade Sao Paulo
    Renzo Gracie NYC
    New York Combat Sambo

Actually Michael DePasquale senior awarded it to him in kickboxing. Joe's system is "american Kicboxing".

what was the belt system, and who gave it to you? did it go the standard white blah blah blah black model?

and i thought this thread was going to be about title belts and the ranking of fighters. i never heard of krarate-esque belts in kick boxing.

neat-o, were the belt requirements similar to BJJ where the higher belts are awarded baised on performance in the ring/coaching?

Not sure. All the instructors at the gym were given black belts and me and Kat were given our belts because we were better than everyone else at the gym. We didn't stick around to see what people had to do to progress in the belt ranking system.

Getting someone to give you 10th dan in your own system is still self-promoting. Especially if that person is only qualified to give rank in Mafia-jutsu and Crappling.

I'm not sure if that's totally awesome or just really fucking weird.
