    Open Sparring in Seattle?

The IKMF Seattle group, Krav Maga Seattle, is currently being taught out of a synagougue and the owners of the facility seem to frown on our sparring there.

Are there any Seattleites who could direct me[us] to a school/facility where we could throw hands occasionally?

Are we talking in the city or eastside? Because over in Renton (really Bellevue) my gym, West Coast Fitness, allows people to use the mats upstairs where the fighters train. I've seen some Kung Fu guys up there and some other weird MAs being practiced.

In the city. The place where we are now is just west of Wedgewood.

Is there any sort of fee for using the facility, or is it just 'show up at the designated time'?

Makes it a little less open, huh?

I'm sure I could convince some of the guys in the class to join up for the sake of sparring, but probably wouldn't be able to afford it myself.

Anybody training is expected to follow the rules of the dojo. When we are participating in Kumite, it is generally under Kyokushin rule set. Mouth guards and shin pads required. Preferably the cloth type shin pads. Other types will be evaluated. If you wear gloves, no palm bars allowed. Also, generally expect cross trainers to visit and observe a class before participating. That way they are able to see how the class is run. Seattle U would still require either program fees or drop in fees. Not in my control. Liabiliy concerns.

edit- I just looked at your website. I believe one of you people has trained with us before. (he is in your pictures) If i remember correctly - Chris
