equipment question-breath strap?

On the last ultimate fighter there was some footage of Phillipe Nover training at his home facility, and he had a black strap across his midsection. Assuming this is some type of elastic band for strengthening the breathing muscles, does anyone know what it is called?

If you're looking to improve your breathing (i presume to stop from gassing), you could try another TUF trick, where they wore snorkels while training (so they could only get small amounts of air in).

Yea check out wanderlai's training video in the "video" section of the forum it has that snorkel training in there to help his cardio.

yeah those are like a hundred bucks. There's a patent taken out though for the very device I'm describing-- http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5069449.html "Strap device for increasing lung capacity". So someone has the patent but no one's selling it. It seems like a good idea, I could easily fabricate one with the right material.
