i have waited a while to post on this one, as it is a tough question for a recovering anorexic. I have no idea what hunger means. I don't eat at all (and end up passing out) if I wait for some feeling of hunger, or end up over eating if I try to mimic others in their meal behavior. Through training, my Shifu arranged a diet plan now matches my training goals and I have a checklist for each day. It is so not how I want to eat, but eating is better than not. I so wish there were better answers, but I'm not in the hospital or headed that way, for right now.

Thanks for posting. Although I am on the other end of the spectrum, I always feel an affinity for people for whom food is a bugaboo. I'm glad you are on the right road now. Hopefully, I am too.
