    hamstring is healing finally!!!!!!!!

i'm so freakin' excited. this morning while i was doing my stretches, i touched my toes for the first time in 6 weeks. 6 fucking weeks of trying to heal a grade 3 tear in my left hamstring and i'm touching my toes and running again!

my doc says it will be another six weeks before i'm 100%. what's you guys' experience with torn hamstrings?

Never tore mine, but I pulled it pretty badly in March doing sprints and it was still showing symptoms in May (IIRC). Good Lord, that sucked.

yeah, one of my classmates pulled his quad and hamstring really bad last year. he was out of training for 8 months. i'm just glad to be healing ahead of the curve.

how much weight did you gain if any while you were healing up?

Not a hamstring but I pulled/sprained my groin, an adductor muscle. Been six weeks dam thing still keeping me from training, (though I might give it a shoot on saturday feeling pretty good this week). My doctor wants me to get an MRI in the next couple of weeks if it hasnt healed up by then to make sure nothing tore. I was told it would take 6-12 weeks to heal up fully, depending on the damage. I was told I had a grade 2 or 3.

was there any bruising? the back of my leg looked like the real kimbo had been using it as a speed bag. if there is/was then i would guess grade three.
my ortho told me when i went in that the worst case scenario was muscular stitches if it didnt heal. so, hopefully you're good to go.

Not totally sure, but if memory serves, that was around the time I started my weight loss plan, so I was losing weight rather than gaining it.

the last time I pulled my hamstring was when I jumped out of an airplane and landed on a big rock. That took about a month to heal. My entire leg was black.

If you so say so. I was just relating the last time I had a hamstring injury, since you asked for people's experience with such things.

yeah, but i wouldn't jump out of a plane. and if i did and i landed on a rock, i would probably cry like a girlscout who just got her cookies stolen. hence, you're tougher than me.

i'm assuming your chute opened and you landed wrong or are you one of those miracle guys?
