In fact, my dojang has a dedicated day for those looking to compete, the other three days per week are for personal tuition in self defence and other aspects of the art. McDojangs and the Olympics give a distorted, view point on the art. Positive exposure from the olympics gives parents confidence in letting their child learn a martial art, the McDojangs give us a bad name to other martial artists.
    Another thing, the rules in sport TKD prohibit pushing with hands while in the clinch, along with punches rarely scoring and as most of the kicks reach the body only, the idea of keeping your hands down in sport TKD (extra emphasis) is a practical solution to the sports evolution. In all my classes we are encouraged to keep our hands up. I was a former employee at the most violent pub in NSW, I know how to fight and if I felt I wasn't receiving sound training, I wouldn't be a part of it.
    I trained in judo when I was younger, it was fun. But I am not sure how you are trying to compare the two. They are completely different artforms.

    I kind of forgot where the thread was going, so I'll leave it there.
    I should kill myself.

    Sending you a note of contempt, and an attemp at a poision red varrot, I never checked the "red" box. Hence your posts suddenly have a pretty green dot. Know ye that it was a mistake on my part.

    We are now discussing rank issues.

    Shut up please (-;

    Don't commit suicide just yet. I took care of it. Fortunately, I had not yet expressed my opinion of him in rep. I've done so now.

    He still has a stupid green dot next to his name, but them's the breaks. Clearly someone else likes his clown act.

    Since rep means nothing, technically "can't do nothing right" is not a double negative.

    Hah!
