If I was out there for it, I would... get my ass kicked, but I am waiting to hear back from Seattle PD on my background investigation.

I tried to go last year but had basic training a week later and didn't want to show up broken. I'll be there this year! Buying the plane tickets Tuesday! I'm looking forward to it! How many competitors are there usually?

Depends on weight class. Middleweight is always the biggest (160-180) with about 10+, however the other divisions are usually about 8 per division.

So, usually, barring injury and size of course, you'll get to fight at least twice? I'm just curious, I'll be there regardless and I'm looking forward to it! It'll be my first time trying something like this. Thanks for the info!

As long as you are winning you get to keep fighting. It is single elimination, however for the quarter finals the losers get to fight for 3rd, 4th.

Ahh.. that clarifies things. I had the impression that it was going to be round-robin or something like that. Ok, I'll just have to make the first one count! Thanks again for the information. I look forward to seeing you there!

I should be sending in the registration this week! I do have another question though. Does anyone fight in both ring and knockdown? Just curious, I imagine you would have to be in great shape to do so, but to maximize the experience I can see how that would be tempting to some...
