What's really funny is that the set-up there in my basement STILL doesn't cost as much as a bowflex.

Too damn expensive for a hunk of metal. If I can ever find them for cheap, I will.

I just bought some dip bar handles for the cage. I'm looking forward to that.

They're about half as much on ebay. You got any atlas stones or a neck harness?

Yeah, I got a harness. No stones, those things would be a bitch to move, so it's gonna be after the military before I do any sort of strongman stuff.

And with ebay, I can feel them to see how well they're built. A lot of companies have poor balancing or handles that are too wide or too narrow.

What brand of neck harness do you have? Mine keeps breaking. Haha! My gym has stones!

It's the same company (dragondoor) that makes the nice ones. They have an ebay storefront where they auction the kettlebells and they usually go for about half as much as from the website.

I'm using an everlast one, but check out ironmind

I'll keep the bells on ebay in mind. Right now, my training isn't suffering from an absence of them, but maybe I'll treat myself after my next DITY.

This reminds me of a project I had to undertake for a BS political science class back in college. The objective was to create a "dream home" and relate it to American values and blah, blah, blah. Anyway I included a home gym in the basement that actually looked more or less like the one discussed here. Everyone was completely baffled as to why I would ever want something like that in my house. "Why don't you just get a gym membership?"
"Keep a sharp knife, shiny boots and be on time."
