    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Does this academy look good to you?

    Hi everyone,

I am new to these forums and coincidentally a new Martial arts academy (or whatever you want to call it) has opened up. Here is the link http://www.vt1gym.com/index.htm.

So far from what I have read, they seem to be legitimate and nothing seems wrong or out of proportion. I am thinking of learning all things on their training curriculum except for krav maga (I have a lot of time on my hands).

With that said, I would like your inputs on this place and whether you think it is legit or not. Any help at all wll not go to waste, I will treasure it like my own child (LOL).

Thanks for your input and for reading this thread in advanced,

    Warm regards,
    Mark :tongue8:

    Yes. That's what it means.

If you pay attention and exercise your reading abilities, you will see the following text clearly visible at the top of this thread and this forum (bold and color added by me):

The official forum for Bullshido. SERIOUS discussion on McDojos, questionable Martial Artists, and Martial Arts History only.

Asking if this or that academy looks good or not is not a legitimate discussion, investigation or historical article. That much should have been obvious because:

    1. You don't specify what "good" actually means. Good for what?
    2. Your question is a personal inquiry, prompted by your desire to study something. As stated by the description of this forum, it is not for personal inquiries.
    3. You are not presenting a claim of fraud or bullshido/mcdojo practices.
    4. You are not presenting a historical article.
    5. You are not introducing a discussion that might fit descriptions 3 and 4.

We all **** up where we post, but that doesn't excuse we not paying attention. As described in this forum, it is a moderated one. Pay attention to where you post and don't take it personally when people hurl **** at your for posting on the wrong section.

I suggest you create your own thread in newbietown, introduce yourself and lurk a lot, A LOT, before venturing on moderated forums.
Read this for flexibility and injury prevention, this, this and this for supplementation, this on grip conditioning, and this on staph. New: On strenght standards, relationships and structural balance. Shoulder problems? Read this.

My crapuous vlog and my blog of training, stuff and crap. NEW: Me, Mrs. Macho and our newborn baby.

New To Weight Training? Get the StrongLifts 5x5 program and Rippetoe's "Starting Strength, 2nd Ed". Wanna build muscle/gain weight? Check this article. My review on Tactical Nutrition here.

t-nation - Dissecting the deadlift. Anatomy and Muscle Balancing Videos.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
