I remember that guy, we front-paged his stupidity when the original video came out.

Another cop recently shot himself while cleaning his service weapon. Right AFTER giving his daughter a gun safety lesson.
When I was young I saw a guy and his young son get peppered with some birdshot while dove hunting. Some dumb-ass mutherfucker on the other side of the field was shooting at low birds and not paying attention to what was beyond the target, and the boy and his paw got caught.
Not a terrible wound, but they had to go to the ER to get the shot dug out. But it was a VERY poignant gun saftey lesson for me.
Also (I've posted about this before), when I was a kid, another kid on my soccer team got shot point blank by his best friend while playing with his father's *ahem* "Unloaded Gun"."You know what I like about you, William? You like guns AND meditation."

For many years I participated in War of 1812 reenactment, and the most common dumb thing I saw during that time was people resting their hands, and sometimes hands and chin, on the muzzle of their musket - it's just the right height for it, so it's easy enough to do. Incidents dropped off sharply when the rule was instituted: anybody caught doing it bought a case of beer for the group.
Oh, also have an uncle on my mother's side, who died while hunting - tripped while climbing over a fence and shot himself.
