    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    How do _ing _orm ?

So about about four weeks ago I got lazy and didn't shave for about 5 days, with my heavy manly beard that's about 2 weeks of growth for a normal person.

Anyways in that time I went to some no-gi weekend classes.

So about a 5 days in my beard is itching like crazy so I shave it off and low and behold there's a quarter sized red mark on my face.

Now I wash my stuff after every single class and shower when I get home but because of the beard I didn't scrub my face like I should and I have ring worm on my cheek.

I have been putting topical anti-fungal cream on it for almost 3 weeks and it's faded to a barely noticeable spot.

    My question is two fold.

How long after it disappears when can I safely go back to training ( I don't want to be a bastard who spreads this)

And has anyone found a scruffy face vs clean shaven makes a difference with getting this ****?

My plan now is to get a bigger gym bag and bring a towel and sandals and scrub and scour myself right after class from now on.

And make sure I am clean shaven all the time

And never to go to no-gi again

It's a filthy disgusting bastardization of the beautiful sport of Jiu-Jitsu.

Thoughts and snide sarcastic comments appreciated.

I have facial hair, awesome facial hair, and I've never had this problem. See the above quote? There is your problem.

    1) Scrub that ****, regardless of the beard. Exofoliate, ************, EXFOLIATE.

    2) Make sure the mats are clean, clean them yourself if you have to. A clean mat will eliminate the chances of getting ringworm, or at least lower it significantly.

    3) Why would No-Gi have any effect on wether or not you get ringworm on your face? Do you wear a ninja/ski mask while you grapple? If so, why?

    Thank you for your time.

The sweat to skin contact level in no-gi is noticeably higher.

Seriously though I wrote the school owner

And if this ever happens to me again I am changing schools.

I think part of the problem it's a big school with wrestling, MMA, BJJ and Muay Thai and they need to scrub those mats better.

Yah. That's all it really boils down to.

I should also add the no jiu jitsu combined with sleeping on the couch and no sex for the last 3 weeks has been loads of fun.

You could try washing your face with Head and Shoulders... IIRC, the zinc compound in H+S is anti-fungal to fight dandruff. In fact, you could put it anywhere you don't want fungus. (I've heard it used as a treatment for nail fungus, etc.)

    One product name: Hibiclens.

That **** kills anything (don't try it if your skin has cracks or open wounds, though... or just go for it and kill whatever the **** wants to crawl through the skin cracks.)

I am none to pleased I got this.

Interesting stuff, although it says it's anti bacterial.

One thing I found right away is that anti-bacterial and anti fungal aren't the same.

I now carry a hand wash thing of Purel for the anti bacterial

What kind of freaks me out is that I got this on my face.

    Sorry, Thread Hi-jack, kinda.
I have been constantly getting rashes on my face, from wrestling. Don't think its ringworm, it only lasts a day or 2 and when they come back, they are in different areas.
I've been washing my face with anti bacterial soap and Head & Shoulders shampoo, I also use lamisil. Would Hibiclens be safe to use on the face?
