A 400lbs sumo in a "sumo stance" is the classical "immovable object"
A 400lbs sumo rushing you is the classical " Irresistible force"
Anyone in the middle is the classical " road kill "

Something I never knew, you can use wing chun from the guard... well, then again maybe not. :(

well that something i never knew wing chun invented punching from the guard, i swear i have seen other guys doing this before you see it alot in ufc, maybe they all did wing chun to, hmm the first photo, well wing chun certainly teaches you to throw knockout punches, maybe butterbean needs to learn the chain punch, so he can knock people out aswell as the barbarian in that photo.

The above picture is a really good example of the bloody-minded insistence on forcing a "style" into a situation.
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

Guess who's school it is ->

The bottom line is that Emin Boztepe is a master-level instructor of the WT system... Emin personally visits every school in his organization to teach, correct, and conduct rank advancement.

Point. I noticed that the attacker is actually doing his very best to put himself in a position where the other guy can punch him, and is not actually succeeding.

Those guys are trying to sell wing chun as a complete hand to hand system, instead of a striking system. The pathetic result is obvious in that picture.

    To a distant post;
Our master Caesar is in the tent
    Where the maps are spread,
    His eyes fixed upon nothing,
    A hand under his head.

I don't know anything about those guys, but any "system" of combat that would limit itself to one facet of combat (striking) wouldn't survive very long.

Wing Chun is a complete system. The fact that your Sifu doesn't know, or won't show you any Wing Chun techniques other than striking indicates that you need to find a new teacher.

Sorry to be so blunt, but it's best you know this immediately.

This is the absolute most ridiculous statement I've ever heard made on this forum. Retract it immediately.

    I will not retract it.

But I will say that the above is not meant to include systems for sport or competition.

My point is that a true combat system cannot contain only a single facet of fighting...or else it would be too easy to defeat in combat.
