New 52 Blocks vids on YouTube

The very existence of the 52 Blocks were controversial for a long time, but over the past 18 months or so many of the top practitioners have gone public via YouTube, the http://www.fwape.com/ website, books and seminars.

Briefly, they are trying to reform the culture of the 52s into a system of positive role modeling, especially for African-American youth, as an alternative to the drug/gang culture.

Some new 52 vids., including fitness and strength training:

YouTube - CONSTELLATION presents: 52 Blocks Fitness with the Bartendaz

    Light sparring:

YouTube - 52Blocks.TV BLOCKING WITH THE BEST

    Harder sparring:

    YouTube - 52 Blocks Throw Down#1

They're also looking to recruit boxers and MMA fighters:

Cool stuff. The pullups at the beginning of the first video were amazing.

Go to the website and watch the video called "elder bag speaks"

    I'll wait.

Yeah, thats why I train in a gym. Forum member WhyKruJamel challenged some of these guys, and they never showed to the gym. "we don't train in the gym, we train in the street"

    Sound familiar?

More details would be good ...

Are you sure the challenge was to these guys (i.e. FWAPE/Bartendaz/Constellation)? They don't seem the types to back to down from challenges and they definitely train in gyms as well as in the street. N.B. there is at least one other guy in NYC (Lyte Burley) who claims to teach the 52s, has bad blood with the FWAPE people and who is more known to shoot his mouth online.

I got the impression of a Blaxploitation version of Wing Chun, but to each his own.

I've been subscribed to Lyte's channel for some time. He rambles on and on about da fitty-two, wears his boxing gloves backwards, enjoys him some tippy-tap punches, and seems to spar generally incompetent boxers.

    Do you belieeeeeeve? In miracleeeeeesssss?

I sent a question to Faris once about what defined 52 blocks as a style. After consulting with the experts of the style, he sent me back some babbling garbage about how it's like "boxing in a box." And that instead of "hoping" a strike will hit you, everything they're doing is forcing you into their strikes or something. I wish I still had the message, it was such crap that I deleted it immediately.

LMAO!!!HAHAHA....THIS IS A F***ING JOKE...kinda like thugjitsu. I saw one of there youtube videos a while back where the guy was saying that this is better muay thai and called mt one dementional. If you get videos of these guys fighting a mma guy or any trained fighter for that matter post it. I really for see kimblow being a pioneer of this. Why does the "urban" community try to ruin and cheapen everything by "takin it to the streets"?
