    are there any plans for sanctioned shooto matches in the u.s? would they follow the shooto weight classes? 118 here I come.

    this article says just about everything i know at this point.

    essentially, jason manly has been trying to set up pro shooto events stateside. not sure how well this has gone, as i haven't been in touch since i met him in japan.

    that article is from 2007 and i spoke to him more recently than that (may '08) when he said he was working on promoting more events. he shouldn't be too hard to find, although i'm not going to post his email here on the forum for obvious reasons.

    EDIT: if a mod wants to move the shooto spinoff posts to another thead, i think it might be a good idea. tentative title: usa shooto?

    I think that would be awesome. Anything to support orgs that have true light weight classes!
