Buying an AR15 lower

Man, I sure hope that is the case, and this price gouging is temporary. I refuse to pay as much for an AK as what I did for my AR. I'd like to see how any potential gun ban legislation interfaces with the recent Supreme Court DC ruling. Once a type of weapon is outlawed, we are in a collective slippery slope. But, in light of the DC ruling, any legislation would probably be challenged in court almost immediately.

Hopefully the same people that were willing to pay $300 additional dollars for thier AK will also be willing to take the same amount of reduction in price when they sell.

Personally, I'm waiting for all those used guns to hit the market before my next purchase. There will be a lot of good deals on barely used AR15s once the panic is over.

I'll be building a few ARs over the next several months once my lowers come in. And will eventually post pics.

Anybody here have any experience with NM trigger sets? I am not going to be putting in adjustable trigger sets, just the plain ones. I've read that Stag's trigger groups are almost too tight. I've seen some mixed reviews on DPMS trigger groups (but mostly positive).

I am building these for some Keebler-sized people (wife and daughters), so I need to keep in my mind they are tiny and the components need to be adjustable where they can be, and top-notch where they can't (just because this will be a labor of love).

I am probably going to stick w/ 16" barrels as well.

MRM have you taken out your Remington to shoot yet?

Dammit. Best deal I've ever seen and they won't ship to my beautiful island.

By the way, I just checked Fulton Armory and I don't think they've increased their prices. They are a little more expensive than other places ($150.00 for an AR lower) but the quality of the Garand parts I have bought from them in the past was worth it.

Thanks for the heads up. Phrost's link was also helpful. I've still got a lot of that Chinese stuff they were selling back in the 80s. Smells like lemon oil....The SKS likes it, less so in the AKM.

Seriously...AIM has got like the best prices out there on that new Romanian 7.62x39---check it out. The AIM guys are consistently among the cheapest out there and they aren't out there sodomizing gun owners like many other gun dealers/wholesalers/manufacturers are in the past couple of weeks. We as a community should be supporting AIM Surplus, Del-Ton, and Double-Star....these guys are looking out for us and we should repay them in kind.

Considering that Wolf 7.62 is over $200 per thousand in most places--this a more "reasonable" price for 700 rounds.

Edit: I can't believe that I just said that $139. for 700 rounds of 7.62x39 is reasonable. Ugh.
