I don't think anybody's doubting the worth of body-shots. PeopleSoft said that you don't see karate guys doing anything special with in body shots in K1, but I took that to mean that they don't do anything that a boxer or Thai boxer wouldn't do.

I would say though that in MT, the ability to knee does mitigate the usefulness of the body shot somewhat.

Coherencecheck would be a good idea too.

That's right. Their body shots seem pretty par for the course compared to the other fighters. I'm willing to grant that they might have something extra in bareknuckle though.
    Good point on the knees.

Serious answer: the amount of bodyshots thrown in a kyokushin spar v a mt spar will be highly disportionate. Also my gym spends hardly any time teaching how to throw to the body which means i could pick up better technique in a style which focus' soley on throwing punches there.

If i didn't have so many friends at my gym i'd most likely drop MT for kyokushin karate + boxing.

Completely beside the point though, i seriously doubt anyone who doubts the effectiveness of a good body punch (even with gloves on) has trained more than 3 months.

From what I've seen of most kyokushin matches, you'd be better off learning body shots from a boxing coach. Not to say they don't have good body punches in the system, but it from what I've seen they seem to have much better kicking than punching even though the matches I've seen are like 95% body shots and 5% kicks.

alway using the same stance is always using the same strategy and having the same weakness. I alway use diferent stance and I have many skill in movement thats make me a more versatile opennent than someone who use boxe guard.

I was trained in boxe mixed wit shaolin and know many muay thai skill .
I know that the worst technique they have is a clinch . for me entering a clinch is noting
to what i can do wit what I know(jiujutsu basic).

human body have a big weak point inthe back the neck use bare hand hand put him down
and throw your knee into his face. Dont put a clinch you will be i a situation were you have no advantage at all .when I enter in ist guard normaly He will be ko.

but at the end I always thinking that muay thai is far superior to karate. mixing muay thai and judo you can become a super warrior (good strategy owner).
