Because I'm feeling just so Goddamned generous today, here's your citation for the third one:
"Dietary fiber: An essential part of a healthy diet", by the Mayo Clinic staff
And here's another one that demonstrates why it's actually a moot point:
Quote:
Ileal true nitrogen digestibility was similar for all five diets: control, 86.3%; cheese, 89.4%; low beef, 88.6%; high beef, 89.6%; and high beef + RS, 88.7%. Beef, at both low and high intake levels, was as well digested as cheese, suggesting that poor digestibility of meat does not explain the association between meat intake and large bowel cancer risk.
-Silvester et al., "Does digestibility of meat protein help explain large bowel cancer risk?"
__________
OK thanks, that's all I want, citations. Although I'm assuming the beef was cooked before consuption. -

I'd never heard of "ptomaine poisoning" before, so I looked it up. Everything I found indicates that the ptomaine theory of food poisoning has been discredited since the 1920s.

This argument is so 5 threads ago.
All we need here is Kindergarten logic. Other animals that eat meat have claws, large fangs, and eat raw meat.
Humans have flattened nails that only other herbivores would have. Humans have stupid little canines that would have problems chewing out of a paper bag, most likely a leftover evolutionary trait from when we used larger canines for self-defense. Eating raw meat while many cultures still do this, only do it through great pains making sure to drain all the blood, clean the muscles, etc, and they still get loads of problems from it.
I cannot speak to evolution with any authority, but I know what I see. Many people prosper just fine on their omnivorous diets. I am in the camp that says it is the human that is "better suited" for a vegan diet.
I have yet to hear a good explanation as to why humans have flattened nails, short canines, and can't eat raw meat other than a vegan diet.
... and goveg.com is a peta website jackass, **** them and their pseudoscience bullshit. Our intestines may be much longer than carnivores or omnivores are, but that doesn't mean that meat will literally rot inside. When people say that it is layman's speak for encouraging intestinal plaque... or something like that I imagine. I like to imagine things.
Bowel cancer has an association with increased animal protein intake. Other cancers, diabetes, heart disease, weight gain, and other diseases are associated with this increase in animal protein intake. The Chinese and other cultures are seeing an increase in these diseases as their diets change over to more Western ones. The reasons for this are under contention from many sides, but there is a clear association. -

Every "training on a veg diet" thread turns out like this one.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris -
