    Good queries, miguksaram. The Won-Kuk Lee story was very good, by the way. I found it inspiring, because it was one more source that said, Don't Forget Lee in TKD's History! Lee's story had been seriously under-reported.

    For A Killing Art, the names of GM's and masters who I spoke to are in my bibliography, which has an interviewee section. Their affiliations (WTF, ITF and others) are clearly defined in the book, and a quick google would answer other affiliation questions, because most of the interviewees are well known and are all over the internet.

    How did I get Koreans or anyone to talk about the KCIA missions? I'm an investigative journalist, which means that I automatically do a lot of background research before interviews, including tracking down obscure documents. That way, during interviews, I politely cut through the BS and superficial explanations. GMs like it when martial artists know the real history -- dates, names, events -- and they appreciate something more: courtesy during the interview and a chance to explain their side of the story. Many were eager to tell their versions; others were careful but still wanted parts of their stories out there.

    For Korean interviews, I hired an interpreter, and for Korean books and documents, I hired a Korean researcher.

    Finally finished the book. I'll get around to a review shortly. Overall:

    * Decent historical write-up.
    * Narrow focus allowed for coherent writing but glaring holes in actual history.
    * Still had completely unverified historical bullshit reported as fact, despite an excellent and extensively researched bibliography.

    I finished "A killing Art" a few months back. Found it a good read and got me to rethink some things, however it also showed me I didn't know as much as I had thought, so I am no expert. Told Alex I would do a write up, never got around to it.
