Topnotch, which is on Tudor Street near Blackfriars. I strongly recommend checking out the HK class. Unintentionally hilarious. I've since noticed that there's actually a thread about these jokers: Chang's Hapkido Academy, Blackfriars (London, UK) - No BS Martial Arts
As to the tubbers, I suppose its just that one assumes they're there to try and lose some weight and are doing their ab-exercises and weights in the misguided belief that this will target localised lard, when what they should be doing is spending a little more time on a treadmill. Though watching them wobble about doing that always makes me feel a little seasick.
I quite accept that some pasty munchers are not labouring under any such illusion, and are just trying to get stronger, or perhaps training for sumo or something, in which case my criticism would be unjustified.

Apparently, lifting weights actually burns more calories than CV in the long run because of the effect it has on your Metabolism I.E. speeding it up.
Can anyone confirm this or is it bollocks?

Once had a guy in a gym I used to attend who, when he started, was given the usual generic starter program ( some cardio then a couple of sets 12-15 reps on most of weight machines with a few free weight exercises thrown in).
He stayed with the same program for 5 YEARS!!!!!
Just to clarify, the same exercises, same order, same weight, same reps....every......single....time.
Any advances on that one?

I know an 18 year old with no muscle mass who thinks he is the strongest guy ever. He talks about he has been lifting wieghts since he was eight years old. One day he came into work and said he had a great workout. He said he was lifting weights for 15 minutes.
