    Dana White on EliteXC interests

-Dana White has confirmed that he's interested in signing Robbie Lawler, Jake Shields, and Nick Diaz.

    Credit: The Wrestling Observer

These three are the obvious standouts that could make a easy transition to UFC (two already fighting there previously) I have heard many people state that they would love to see a Lawler vs Silva.

But what about Diaz and Shields? Diaz is by far one of my fave fighters. He brings alot of marketability with his name (hence the big payday from EXC), but his record on paper is not astounding. Fans know that all of his fights are exciting but is this enough of a reason to sign him?

And Shields did great in EXC but does he have what it takes to make a splash in his division in the UFC? He has been qouted many times stating that he wants a match with GSP.

What do you think the odds are that these three will sign with the UFC? There seem to be many big offers coming in from Japan to get some of these EliteXC fighters.

Well Diaz has a win over the one time best fighter in the world Gomi. Sheilds has been considered one of the best 170'ers in the world for about 3 years now.

    Dana made a wise choice.

It looks like Shields wants the UFC or bust. As for the other two I am thinking they may take the money over in Japan.

For some reason, if its not fought in a cage, it makes me mad.

PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

Take Diaz, he's always exciting. Sign Sheilds, he'll make a good addition to the midcard, but I don't think he'll be a top contender. Leave Lawler to beat up the jobbers.

I know Lawler will take it. Shields will too. Diaz is a wild card. He get's into it all the time with the UFC in general. I love watching him fight though. He is highly regarded in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes over there. I really hope more of them will go over there. Juice up the scene a little bit.

Someone needs to give the UFC a run for their money. I think Dana White sold his soul to the Devil or something.

What weight does Diaz fight at now? Is it still 170? Because there is no 170lb division in Japan, which would force him to go up to 185.

Hasn't Nick fought at 155 before? I know he's fought at 160. Or am I mistaken about that?
