    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Dear John... an ode to Wing Chun

    Dear Wing Chun,

I'm sorry it's come to this, but it's time for a change... but wait... it's not you, it's me.

Back in the old days I enjoyed hanging out with you, we had some good times. I wasn't as fit then as I am now and a lower intensity martial art seemed more applicable to me... I'm in my 30s now and it's not like I'm training for the UFC, right?

But people change, things change and, my dearest Wing Chun, I think it's time for us to part as friends. It's come to the point where the only part of our time together that I enjoy is the 10 minutes of pad work in a 90 minute lesson, and that's not enough to build a strong relationship on anymore.

My dearest Wing Chun, you'll always be in my heart, but it's time for us to part.. I just want to hit things really really hard for an hour, and feel like my lungs are trying to climb out of my body at the end of it, and I don't think you can offer that to me any more. In fact, in many ways, I don't think you ever did.

    Lots of love,

    JasonThe-exWingChun-Knight

Does that mean you're going to stop trying to chain punch your way out of mount?

Wing Chun is a low-intensity martial art?

    Not in my experiences.

But good luck w/ BJJ...I've found that I really enjoy it and it compliments wing chun very well.

I've been doing both of them for quite a few months now, so I'm not just being a loser, honest!
