    Hey Ruz..

A good strength training textbook could help you out..

Amazon.com: Strength Training Anatomy: Frederic Delavier: Books

This one is pretty good... it goes through the muscles worked during the exercises and its dirt cheap for a textbook..

On a tight budget body weight resistance exercises are all you need..

Something had been niggling at me about this thread, and I just figured out what it was.

    1) Brainstorm some broad, long-term goals.
    2) Determine your time, money, and geographical restrictions.
    3) Come up with specific, quantifiable short-term goals.
    4) Find a dietary and training program that meets the above goals and restrictions.
    5) Do it.
    6) Assess your progress.
    7) Repeat.

Dumping money into equipment/memberships/supplements goes somewhere around step 4 or 5. Any money he spends on stuff now is money he can't spend later on stuff he may actually benefit from.

Looked at that one a while ago - I got the impression it was more of an anatomy/exercise reference than a programming guide. Did it cover setting up resistance training programs to meet strength/size/performance goals?

It has absolutely no programming information in it at all..

It is a book that consists of exercises and relevant anatomy that cover the whole body, from machines, free weights and body weight resistance exercises...

I just thought since Ruz has no idea about strength training it might be a good place to reference exercises from...

    Its also pretty cheap...

This book should definately be used with another that specifically deals with programming..

I'm going to try out some swings and the turkish get ups, also the exercise for grapplers.....

it just feels too light to swing, you know? I guess since it's light I could do some advanced stuff that doesnt require balance

Swings and turkish getups are for grapplers.

That's probably because it is too light. Even if it is light, you have to have the technique down first, otherwise you'll hurt yourself. You might not feel it right away, but you'll slowly do damage to your lower back and shoulders, etc. and one day you'll wake up with bad joints. So if you do decide to do advanced stuff, make sure you have the technique down.
