If you're looking for ways to strength train on the cheap, rosstraining.com has plenty of good ideas. Lots of home-made, heavy-object type stuff.

    not true.

many of them harbor "Sugar Daddy" fantasies and think every customer has the potential of taking them out of the club and into a new BMW.

Well then they have wrong expectations too. If you have the money and all you don't go to a strip club, you order privates, all included. And I doubt that more than 1% of the gals working strip joints get into that line of business.

So, these two things aren't analagous. Let's focus on this:

He dropped some coin on a kettleball.

Bear in mind, while it may *SEEM* similar to a dumbell, it is a bit different. Respect this first and you should do well.

Now, like Russ said: tharuz, what do you need help with, now?

    Oh, that's easy.

I needed help with knowing if Gold's Gym kettlebells had defects, Teh El Macho has now explained to me that you need to wrap a towel around your wrist to protect it.

Similar experiences with Gold's gym kettlebells would be appreciated.

I also now know that I need a heavier one, but it isn't thoroghly clear to me as to why.

I also wanted to ask so I know EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW about kettlebells.

I also wanted you guys to post some youtube videos, websites, or recommend where i can buy some DVD's for my kettlebell.

I also don't know how to lift normal weights.( Shoulder flys, bicep curls, squats, ????)

That's all, though I might have missed something.

Tharuz, those Steve Maxwell routines are too advanced for a beginner. When starting out in kettlebells, just focus on swings and turkish getups. On your off days practice the technique for some of the other lifts like the military press and the clean. That last video is a good one. I would recommend check out the online catalogue of yor local library and see if they have any books on kettlebells (mine did). Also, check out some of the articles on dragondoor.com and try not to get caught up in the glitz or some of the more advance routines and fancy moves. Work on the basics.

    oh, ok. great post Raz.

If I'm only doing a 15lb kettlebell or a 20lb at max, how will I know when I'm advanced in KB?

In a previous kettlebell thread SFGOON explains the difference between good and bad kettlebells.

I also now know that I need a heavier one, but it isn't thoroghly clear to me as to why.
Because 15lbs are designed for women, but wether or not it's too hard is for you to decide.

I also wanted to ask so I know EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW about kettlebells.
Check out dragondoor.com, go to the library, invest in some books (I recommend 'Enter the Kettlebell' by Pavel).

I also wanted you guys to post some youtube videos, websites, or recommend where i can buy some DVD's for my kettlebell.
Dragondoor.com, but check your library first.

Find some friends that can help. There are also some good books, but it takes time and practice to get good at these lifts and if you don't have a gym membership in the first place don't bother.

Focus on the task at hands, don't think about crossing the finish line when you havn't tied your shoes yet.
