Oh my ****. I just read his entry on Wikipedia and I think he's more bad arse than man.

If he dies, (note the 'if'; there is a very real chance he will just do his Karelin Lift on the Reaper and shatter its' skull) we should study him to and try to isolate and ultimatley synthesize the bad arse-ness, allowing little wimps like me to get a bad arse-ery augmentation.

What's funny is the portrayal of him throwing someone airborn in that Anime segment actually happened in one of the European Championships he entered. He literally threw a 260lbs man off the mat like he was a child.

**** Ivan Drago. A. Karelin FTW.

Great choice. He was my hero when I was a young wrestler.

JP, you know why they call it the Karelin Lift? 'Cause no one else can pick up 300 lbs of squirming Olympian like that.

Is the Karelin Lift a modification of a standard wrestling move, or is he just that sweet?

It's a modification of the gutwrench suplex, starting after the other guy has flattened himself out on the mat to prevent himself from being thrown. Before Karelin nobody thought it was possible in the higher weight classes because of the strength it would require.
