Medicine Ball: buy a cheap basketball from Kmart, cut a 2 inch slit in it, fill with sand and tape up. Use different fillings - rice, dried beans, etc - for different weights.
Sandbag: I use one of those dry bags used for kayaking. You can pick them up at any outdoor store. I live near the beach so I can take the rolled up dry bag down to the beach in a backpack, fill it (the dry bag) with sand and workout, then empty the sand out, roll up the dry bag and off I go.
