Whaddaya know, CMA has grappling after all

Sorry if this was a repeat, tried the search function, didn't find anything.

Judging from the picture, does it look...OK, at least?

Qin Na includes seizing, breaking, choking and grappling techniques! Who'da thunk it?

If I read the text on the link correctly, I think they are suggesting it is _ing _un. Not sure...

I thought I saw similar photos attributed to Hung Gar.

However, the skeptical side of me points out that the photo shows what appears to be some old timey Chinese guys demonstrating some grappling. The text is Chinese, but unless someone can reveal more about the origins, it could be a photos published showing Japanese grappling. Or maybe a couple of Chinese guys came back from Japan and showed some stuff that they learned.

Chokes and locks are not exclusive to arts of Japanese origin, nor rudimentary ground techniques. However, it seems that outside of Japan, no art truly made the groundfighting paradigm shift.

Edit: I think they are claiming it is Yip Man...

Boy, after wandering the eath for tens of thousands of years, even the chinese figured out how to hurt someone...OP, do you have a point? I don't think the discussion is whether or not a system has grappling, the question is the effectiveness in technique and training.

So none of the several hundred forms of wrestling that have existed for the last 3000 years all over the world ever managed to be successful at ground fighting? Or am I missing something?

Just so. The book was released in English about a year ago under the name Chin Na Fa: Traditional Chinese Submission Grappling Techniques. Tim Cartmell translated.
