Stupid idea! Psychologically speaking if you learn something while under the influence ie studying for a test then you should be in the same mental state when you put that knowledge to use ie taking the test. Are you going to be stoned every time you might need your martial arts ability?

Phenom, you're full of ****. I've heard that too, and don't believe it at all.
I've sparred, and POINT SPARRED stoned. If you have any kind of mental fortitude at all, it's no big deal whatsoever. Point sparring is all about speed, and I'm just as good at it stoned as sober. Just don't act like a dumbass, and focus.
And yes, I realize being good at point sparring is like being in the special olympics. It's the only way you can really compete around here, especially when you're under 18 (which I was not all that long ago). -

A couple things:
First, call me old-fashioned but I would consider it extremely disrespectful to your coach and teammates to show up intoxicated. You're performing potentially dangerous techniques and your training partners are relying on you being together enough to not permanently cripple them.
Second, OP is a n00b and a dork for posting this. -

I've rolled once with a guy who I thought was stoned. You could smell it on his Gi and he was one of those stereotypical stoner guys. He was a lot of things I'm not: Dedicated, Skilled, and Incredibly into Grappling. I dunno if it was a result of his lifestyle or that's just the way he is about things but regardless maybe there's more to this...
Nah not really I just wanted to get that stupid "You haven't posted in Weeks" garbage from the top of every page and figured I'd chime in on an experience where I rolled with this awesome weird guy.
