October 2008 Sambo Tournaments

October will be a big month for Sambo in the US with National Freestyle, Sport, and Combat Sambo events in New Jersey and Florida!

Be sure to mark these dates!

October 5th, 2008. Rahway, New Jersey.
5th Annual North American Freestyle Sambo Championships.
This year, in addition to our Freestyle Sambo open tournament, we will host an 8 team no-gi grappling submit or draw tournament (the first 8 teams to pre-register). All medallists in Freestyle Sambo will earn points towards the ASA National Freestyle Sambo Rankings: http://ussambo.com/rankings.html

I went to the Orlando website and noticed that either the dates are wrong or the days. Is the seminar going to be on Friday the 24th or Sat. the 25th? I have a bunch of guys that want to do some Sambo stuff, but we all have to try and get days off.

Are you allowed to just compete without going to a seminar?

You do not need to do the seminar. They are on different days I believe, but write to Yvonne (e-mail above) to confirm the dates. I will check as well. I believe the seminar is on Saturday and the tournament is on Sunday. I will be there officiating.
