Incorporating the uppercut into heavy bag training

Alright, I searched around on Strikeistan for advice on the uppercut, but I still was unable to find how exactly to train it on the bag while I'm working my other punches.

The uppercut is my weakest punch (I don't think I've ever landed an uppercut, actually) and I would like to get a bit better at it, and I was wondering if I could incorporate it into my combos so that it flows better when I'm actually fighting someone.

Thanks for all advice and help!

There are a variety of bags to choose from, if you want to spend $$$ on a specific piece of equipment. Not sure if anyone actually uses them.

Oh, no, there's a heavy bag at the gym I go to, that's why.

Oh, if you mean incorporating the uppercut into training on a regular bag, I just aim lower (shovel hook) and count it as a lost cause to the head. Then again, I'm a karateka. :P

Tell your trainer you want to work your uppercuts more while you're doing mits. Or get an uppercut bag.

Uppercuts are my favorite technique and I have no trouble working them into working the heavy bag. Just hit the bag like it has a nose and aim for that with your uppercut. You're not going to be uppercutting someone straight up under the chin anyway.

    So yeah, ask your coach.

Great (disappearing) vid. Amazing movement. Tyson really is a legend.

I actually posted the vid after only watching the first 3 or 4 seconds of it, then I watched it and realized he barely even does any bag work in the video. It's actually surprisingly hard to find a good heavy bag video on youtube
