Based on this Judo is the answer, as you will learn to fall correctly,

and you will get a great deal of practice.

i dunno. i personally was never taught proper ways to land. i missed that class, and my instructor forgot to teach me before having me do stand-up grappling. after getting thrown the first time, he remembered, but shrugged it off saying i do a decent job at flying across the room :p

Danni - Congrats mate, did you have to compete? Over here they've changed the syllabus so you don't have to compete until BB.

Vieux - Good point, although I think i learned the term self-masturbatory from this website.

Pauli - Was that your best Miyagi impression?

When I move back to my home town, there's a Judo club that charges 4 per class and is on 3 nights a week. Think I'll look them up.

it really depends on the instructor. my judo instructor knows my ultimate goal is mma so he takes the time to show me no-gi applications, and some of the clinch/trip moves are damn cool. that being said, my wrestling coach is a crazy russian free style guy, and he has shown me some new ways to apply double legs and such without always scraping my knee on the mat. Both would be effective for you, so go talk to both instructors if that is an option.

EDIT: congrats on your blue as well

Yah I heard about the non-competitive browns over there. They have that here...and I have to admit that's how I got it. Although for me it was one of those "took you long enough...." belts.

Trust, though, I've committed myself to competing much more now.

And I just realized I was a total arse earlier....allow me to make it up.

Dude, Kudos on the blue belt Asriel!

And Joe....Congrats on the promotion as well!!
