These posts are going off topic from the OP so I split the thread.

The reason the spin kick is a "lottery" kick is because most people don't use the proper footwork or set it up first. Even if you do set it up first and use the proper footwork, its not a high percentage technique, but it becomes more viable than the way you were doing it.
Unfortunately, I do not have video to refer you to that demonstrates what I'm talking about....

How can I get that sparring video to play at full speed?

Not to wild about the hands down or the falling down after landing the kick, but his timing is good.
Another one, this time using it as a counter, which is what I was trying to do, but 1bad stopped attacking after one punch and didn't oblige me by charging into my kick.
And just so the Sambo guys don't feel left out:
I like the fact that the Sambo fighter in blue doesn't fall down after he lands the kick.

I like your first vid for the simple reason that the bouncing idiot got owned.
I hate bouncing.

I like the third, because it's one of the most well-rounded and overwhelming beatings I've ever seen.

I have 1 real fight KO via spin-kick, 2-3 landed in sparring, some mistimed and just slid off the face with little damage. I don't think it's as risky as a kick as its made out to be, when done properly it lands you right back in your stance and transitions into a jab or left uppercut well when kicking with the right foot from a right handed stance.
Can I do it now? No farking clue, my friends and I got a little too tough to be throwing high powered hard to pull kicks on each other, after one accidental sparring KO I called it quits on kicking my friends, that was when I was like 18, Im 26 now.
