    Hell yeah! Hell no!
    just a quick note from me re: Mark Tripp;

I had the fortune to run into him at a tournament in, like, 1997. He was the first person to explain the flying armbar to me so that it made sense and I was able to do it. About a year later I quit the school I was training at and found a SAMBO dude in NYC.

    I never looked back.

"Go goddamn you!!! It's $25! wtf!?"
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

But no, seriously, 25 dollars, and you get 3 hours of sambownage.

That is not conducive to passionate cunnilingus, my friend, let me assure you.

Was that in Canada at the Gene Lebell tourny? I think I met him there too (the only time we ever met).

But, I have some old seminars of his on VHS. Great stuff!!!

Hey Steve that probably was at the Grapplers Quest Tournie in Toronto. Mark was my instructor back in the day, He's very good at explaining the details of a technique's application. The funny thing is I remember the Systema demo from that tournie, but the Gene Lebell seminar was the standout for me. Bottom line Mark is a great instructor I think I might check it out if I can find my Gi....25 bucks is a steal..

    Anyone doubting Mark's instructional ability:

One tournament (april 4th) i lost, horribly. Sat in his living room, watched the tapes, and he helped me fix some very weak points in my game, and helped me strategize for my next tournament, and showed me the DOUBLE ARMBAR. (I get it in rolling, but haven't managed to get it in a tournament)

May 10th, i won the adult no gi division in stunning fashion.

Seriously, Mark is a grappling/combatives savate. He's trained World Champions. 25 dollars is an almost insulting price, but its going towards a good cause.

You're only hurting yourself if you don't go.

what is with mid-westerners?!? buy a gi for $45 and go to the $25 seminar!! sheesh!

Yeah Steve, it was that very same tourney, but I think it was "Grappler's Challenge" or something like that. Grappler's Quest actually pays their people and such...That event apparently didn't work out so well.

Didn't you and I work on this together with Tripp? I remember some of his students helped us and that he was very cool and had a bad back but was very good at describing what adjustments we needed to make and all. F'kk if I can remember some things! What the hell?

    My Gi

Serge, I was only kidding about the Gi, although I have been doing alot of no gi training for the past few years. Your right it was the grapplers challenge, alot of wrestlers and alot of stalling from the side mount/cross body if I remeber correctly.
