Make sure you ice it constantly. Don't be one of those who ice an injury only once and twice and then, out of laziness, do not continue (letting things get worse). Ice it every 2-3 hours (or at least, twice a day), about 10-15 minutes each time. Get that **** to reduce the inflammation, the first 48 hours after an injury are critical.
Also, take ibuprofen around the clock every 4 hours. Do these two things and I can *almost* guarantee inflammation will subside - unless you are suffering from a fracture or a really bad dislocation... even inflammations from minor dislocations or "jammings" can be controlled this way. Controlling inflammations as soon as they occur is critical.Read this for flexibility and injury prevention, this, this and this for supplementation, this on grip conditioning, and this on staph. The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris -
