    The Watermelon Challenge

    Original KFM thread:

    http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/foru...ad.php?t=52004

    Youtube video:

YouTube - The Kung-Fu Watermelon Challenge

** The action occurs at about 4:48 if you want to fast forward.

I would put this under MABS for passing off a "feat of strength" as a show of kung fu skill, but I think it could be better served under comedy. I mean the guy looks like he actually jammed two finders into the watermelon, and he appears to be a pretty strong dude overall. But I wonder, are feats of strength what they use as a marketing ploy for the school?

The open challenge of course if to post video responses if you can poke a watermelon or other defenseless fruit...

Dang it, I wish I was still friends with the Booj guy I used to work with that punches apples to show how powerful his punches are.

Ok I didn't watch the video but I get the picture.

Dude goes to store, buys watermelon, pokes it with his fingers.

I can't do that, but once I put a watermelon in the microwave and poked it with my . . . .

    You know what? Nevermind.

...except that he fully admits, at around 2:50 in the video, that this is "not really a training technique," and that it "doesn't mean you're a good fighter-- doesn't really mean anything."

Yes he does, which is why I wasn't interested in an attack against the guy like he's defrauding anybody.

Cool beans. I misunderstood the initial post. No worries, then.
